Apartment in Virginia Beach, VA 2012
My home is where I want to relax, feel absolutely free to
take off the loads of cares or burdens, and just be totally, completely, whole
heartily ME. It is a place where I am not judged or looked at with scornful
eyes. I am received with arms wide open, alluring me to come and drink tranquility.
The stillness calms me, yet, the atmosphere energizes me. I know I can trust the
sturdy walls of my abode and rest my weary soul.
The style of my husband’s and mine home reflects both our
characters. I believe that is why I love it so much. It is alive with our
history and the vibe is uplifting and exhilarating. We are surrounded with
nature that brings our beloved outside in, while the splashes of color resemble
our quirkiness and fondness of the delighted sound of laughter. I think we could
say our style is rustic, nautical, and hint of bohemian; just the kind of twist
we love.
Every piece that lies within our walls is unique and
treasured. So many of our things were given to us when we first married, while
others were lost and found items discovered on the banks of Potomac River or on
shelves buried in dust in antique or thrift stores. Some could call us scavengers
but we love to think we are historians, archeologists, or treasure hunters keeping
the forgotten or lost remembered and cherished. Every piece of furniture, lamp,
and picture frame has a special place in our hearts and each one brings a memory
to our minds.
